Wonders of garlic

THE WONDERS OF GARLIC

Volumes have been written about the wonders of garlic. How does this plant look like?

Description:

Garlic originally came from central Asia, and is now cultivated throughout the world. It can grow 2 feet high or more, its leaves are long and narrow, it looks much like a grass. The most important part of this plant for medicinal purposes is the compound bulb. Each bulb is made up of 4 - 20 cloves, and each clove weighs 1-5 grams.

They are growing between the membrane scales, and enclosed within a whitish skin, which holds them as in a sac. The whitish tiny beautifully shaped flowers are located at the end of stalks growing directly out of the bulb. They are grouped together in small umbrellas.

It will pay us handsomely to consider this lily because it is one of nature's great masterpieces and also is a safe and certain remedy for many of man's serious and devastating diseases.

This wonderful herb has been used from very ancient times both as food and medicine.
It has alterative, diaphoretic, diuretic, expectorant, antispasmodic, antiasthmatic, stimulant, antiseptic, disinfectant, tonic, nervine, antiphlogistic, germicide, and vermicide properties.

GOD provided HERBS for FOOD creating the universe. He had also provided every thing necessary for the survival of mankind. And God said, "Behold, I have given you herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding to you it shall be meat" (Genesis 1:29).

In verse 30, God continues: "And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, where in there is life, I have every green herb for meat: and it was so."

What does it all mean? It means we are provided all kinds of herbs for living. It’s not mentioned here for treating diseases, but if you live, it means you either do not have disease or you cured it. Cured it by eating herbs, as it was mentioned that God created EVERY GREEN herb for meat.

There is only one verse recorded in the Bible which mentions garlic (Numbers 11:5):

"We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:"

As you see onion and garlic though do not stand first, but nearby, showing their closeness in origin and medical properties.

Chemical Constituents: Volatile oil (25 percent), mucilage (35 percent), albumen, sugar, starch, fibrin, and 50 percent water. The oil is a rather complex substance, of a strong, intensely penetrating odor and consists of ally compounds of organic sulfur.
